Purchasing Clerk Job Description

Company looking to add to their staff a skilled Purchasing Clerk to negotiate pricing, build vendor relationships, and place multiple purchase orders per day.

Requirements:

  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum of 2 years verifiable experience in purchasing
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop profitable purchasing strategies
  • Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
  • Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
  • Place and follow up on numerous, high volume,purchase orders each day
  • Ability to work in an environment with dual monitors and use multiple programs simultaneously

Education: BS / BA Business preferred or 5 years purchasing experience

Temp to hire – permanent position
